TASK: Now that you have built and tested your website, I would like you to market it. Let’s say that your budget is NOK 10 000 (or 1800 $ US). Please do the following:
Do some research on what advertising costs. You could for instance contact your local newspaper, print shop and other websites. Make a detailed list of how you would market your website. Remember to keep your budget in mind. What if you had double the budget? Come up with a second marketing strategy, this time with NOK 20 000 at your disposal. (3600 $ US). Come up with a viral idea. It doesn’t have to be a video; it can be guys dancing at the airport in gorilla suits. You can use ANYTHING that is at your disposal. Be creative!
Marketing cost varies from one to another depending on what we want to prioritize. For the website Visit Coron, it would be ideal to invest on ads geo targeting cold places since it is located in the tropics. Most people would want to go to places where they can relax under the sun.
The SEO or search engine optimisation should be one of the priorities because it is essential for the website’s ranking. Here are the list I think of what I should go for.
- Solidify your website SEO.
- Investing on email marketing.
- Promoting through various social media platforms through ads.
- Creating a viral marketing idea like collaborations.
With both 10,000 & 20,000 kr budget, I think 80% should be used Solely for facebook, Instagram and Google ads. People are always on their phone now a days and going digital marketing will really work. The remaining 10% should be put to collaborations and the other 10% should be put in prints.
